Day 5: (Page 1 of 4) This morning one group went to the worksite and the group was unable to work. The homeowner was gone. The temporarily disappointed group tootled across the island to Beacon of Hope's office for their next assignment. They were told to proceed to Avenue D and work on the house of an older couple with severe health problems. This is a very challenging assignment. We will be cleaning memories from the house and storm as well as building a lanai for the couple. This morning we cleared the porch of almost unimaginable amounts of rusty, moldy, clutter.
Meanwhile back at big blue, the work was wrapped up with a coat of roof sealer and a new front door. Perfect. The crew worked on that roof in severe heat and humidity and Andy got a tan from the bottom up from the heat reflecting off the roof. David and Eric have now mastered the electric drill and hanging doors.
