DAY 2 - 6.30.04 MOOSE SIGHTING! It's officially Alaska - the sun doesn't set until 11:30, rises at about 4,
and Sky found a Moose!! We had some time before our first job, so (continuing the tradition
of past trips) we played cards - Fr. Dave hasn't won yet... Our first place of work is the Covenant House in downtown Anchorage. Covenant House is a shelter
for homeless Alaskans ages 13-21. For our first day we helped out by doing yardwork, painting,
cleaned vans, filing and office work, trimmed bushes, and finally got our showers!
To relax at night we've created our own little volleyball game - as long as we don't forget our
bug spray it makes for a good time. |
