DAY 1 - 6.29.04

Mission 2004 has started! After meeting at Philadelphia International at 5:30 AM, we flew about 4 hours to Salt Lake City, then another 4 hours to Anchorage. With the help of Sarah (a St. Mary's parishoner), we made it to our home for the week, St. Mary's Episcopal Church. St. Mary's is a big parish for Alaskan standards, yet much smaller than Trinity.As we explored the church we found colorful flowers, a spectacular bell tower, carvings of Mary and St. Francis, and a winding labyrinth. We're happy to be here, and ready to start our work!
