Our Christian
Education and Child Care
Christian Education for Children
Church School begins this year on Sunday, September 12th. Welcome to all our Church School students. Some will be beginning their journey with Godly Play. Many will return to explore the stories and traditions that make us God's People. Welcome and thanks to the new as well as returning teachers and door-keepers.

Church School starts at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Please have your child in the classroom no later than 9:55 a.m. so that we may start on time and accomplish all that we have planned that week.
A list of the classes and a brief description of the curriculum utilized by each follows.
The two youngest classes utilize a curriculum called “Godly Play”. Godly Play is based upon the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. Godly Play is a discovery model of learning. It emphasizes a relationship with God. Stories are told with three dimensional materials that depict biblical stories. The children are able to interact with these materials in a way that utilizes all their senses. Rather than being told about God the children are invited into an experience of the reality of God.
Godly Play One 4 yrs. old thru 1st grade
Godly Play Two 2nd & 3rd grade
Grades 4 and 5 make use of a hands-on bible curriculum that encourages both imagination and thinking, engages forms of active learning, and provides experiential learning. Through this interactive learning, children are creatively led to make the connection between scripture and real life experience.
Hands – On Bible Curriculum 4th & 5th grade
Grades 6 and up will meet with Kelly Rupprecht, Trinity’s Youth Director, where there will be discussion on how daily life and faith intersect; trust building activities to develop relationships; and opportunity to discover how God invites each one of us into serving others.

Youth Group
Another exciting year is starting up for the Trinity Youth Group in Ambler!
The following are the opportunities available for students 6th through 12th grade:
Sunday Night Fellowship-
This is our regular weekly Youth Group meeting from 6-8 p.m. which includes games, movies, food and other social activities for all students grades 6-12. We take excursions throughout the year and perform community service. Friends of students are always encouraged to attend. The goal for our fellowship is to develop relationships, build community, and experience God’s love with one another and the larger community. We also will be a big part of the Angel Food Ministries outreach program beginning this Fall at Trinity. The youth will help to organize and distribute food to those in need on a regular basis. All youth are encouraged to attend and welcome to bring friends.

Introduction to the Gospels
Scripture contains four separate and different Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell the good news of Jesus Christ for different reasons, for different audiences, and from different points of view. Comparing what these Gospels have in common and where they differ afford group members an opportunity to broaden their understanding of scripture and to deepen their faith. Fr. Dave will be the group facilitator, not the group’s authority, because in this method of approaching the Gospels, it is the text - not the leader or any member of the group - that will provide the answers to the questions. The group will gather in the library at 10 a.m. on Thursday mornings for six weeks beginning September 16, 2010.

Education for Ministry-
Education for Ministry is a four-year theological study designed by the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. A small group meets weekly to dig deeper into the Christian faith, studying the Bible, Church history and theological ideas and to reflect on connecting faith with life experiences. Trinity currently has two groups – an evening group that meets on Monday evenings and a day group meeting on Wednesday mornings.
